Tohatsu Marine Limited, manufacture a range of Ribs which are wholly designed and built in the U.K. to a high build quality and manufacturing specification.  The concept behind the Tohatsu range is to provide safe, secure and practical sports/leisure craft, which provide excellent performance and handling, are affordable, and can be adapted for use as safety boats, campaign support vessels, workboats or dive boats.

Tohatsu Ribs are powered by Tohatsu 2 stroke or Direct Injection engines with twin combinations available.  The 5.5 6.6, 7.1 and 7.5 versions also have a diesel stern drive option available.

The 5.5m RIB, based on the well proven hull design of the larger models, has been manufactured to enable a less expensive RIB to be marketed particularly suitable for first time users, small diving clubs, safety boats, water skiing, or anywhere that safety, speed and economy are of paramount importance.

The 5.5m Tohatsu RIB is able to reach 30 knots using the minimum engine requirement (50hp) and will plane with two people on board at 15.5 mph in 4 to 5 seconds.  Standard Spec. Includes:-  Henshaw tubes, anchor hatch, non slip floor, jockey console with double seat pod and forward seat, 91L fuel tank, lifelines, 50hp Tohatsu engine, tachometer, trim gauge, auxiliary 25L fuel tank, leisure battery with isolating switch, rubbing strake, bow ring, bilge pump, light mast, water separator.  A category C RIB rated to 6 people and up to a 90hp engine
